Spinoza Foundation

Fund for the advancement of medical science

The Spinoza Foundation is an independent fund housed within the Amsterdam University Fund. With contributions from the Spinoza Foundation, the Amsterdam University Fund promotes medical research, purchases medical equipment, hosts lectures by foreign guest professors, and provides travel grants to medical students and PhD candidates.

Objective of the Spinoza Foundation

The Spinoza Foundation aims to promote medical care and science. The fund achieves this goal by providing travel grants and project subsidies, among other initiatives. Talented (young) UvA researchers can apply for project subsidies, giving them the opportunity to start their research and further develop their scientific careers. Students, PhD candidates, and staff can submit an application to the Spinoza Fund via this website under Requests.
